Father Anthony C. Dinoto - Interim Rector

Meet our Interim Rector

The Rev’d Anthony Charles Dinoto was appointed full-time Interim Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in June 2008 .  Father Tony received his Master of Divinity Degree from the General Theological Seminary, New York City.  Previously, he served Assistant to the Rector at Christ Church, Greenwich, CT, Assistant to the Rector at Christ Episcopal Church, Westerly, RI and as Vicar of Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church, Danielson. Since 1974 and prior to entering the ordination process in the mid 90’s, Father Dinoto was a licensed funeral director and owner of Dinoto Funeral Home, Mystic.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bishop’s Fund for Children .  Father Tony is married to the former Susan Stockwell Payne who is Administrator and Vice-President of Dinoto Funeral Home.  The father of three grown daughters, Kate,  Eleanor, and Sydney and grandfather of Hannah Brooke,  Fr. Tony is an avid golfer, a member of the Stonington Country Club, a 32-year member of Lions International and is a longtime collector of antique Wm. Britains toy soldiers.  By agreement as an Interim Rector appointed by the Bishop, Father Tony cannot be a candidate for Rector of Christ Episcopal Church and his ministry in the parish will come to a close following the Bishop’s approval and announcement of the name of the next Rector.
